AQUAFAIR 2008 photos of the discus competition

Hi all !

This year took place the international competition of discus in Kuala Lumpur at Aquafair 2008 in Malaysia. And this year was still rich in beautiful fish !

I thank Ben Tan, webmaster of Forum Malaysia discus for his photos that he allow me to publish on the blog.

The competition welcomes more than 250 Discus found in 11 categories. You will thus find :

1 ) Solid blue – 2 ) Red United – 3 ) Turquoise striated – 4 ) Pigeon blood – 5 ) Red dots – 6 ) Red snakeskin points – 7 ) Snakeskin – 8 ) Striated albino / points – 9 ) Albino United – 10 ) Striated open / points – 11 ) United open

And with my, I think that this distribution of categories to try fish is really relevant. So, There is not such leopards (Red dots) in front of Red snakeskin points (drawing and fine points) that I have not a be judged in the same way.

Through discus Championships, It is really interesting to note that the competitions are structured…which should logically lead to a real standard of discus and a 'homogenisation' of judgments (With surely of the European and Asian features); as can be seen in the Championships of Guppies, betta… they organized some time.

The judges of this contest are from different countries; found as judge President M. Teoh Hock Guan Malaysia, as well as gentlemen Kuan Kuo Yun Taiwan, Sebastiano Solano, Francis Denitto, Heiko Bleher all three of Italy, M. Sun See Seng Singapore and M. DOUGALL Stewart in the United Kingdom.
